When I moved back here to Texas I thought I was going to be bored to death, that is, until I met Shane. He and I really hit it off on a friend level and within a year we were talking about opening our own clothing store which I honestly just couldn’t wait to do. We’re now in the home stretch towards opening day and I feel like we’re really close to being ready. I can’t wait to get those doors open and really feel what it’s like to own your own business! I left Shane to do all the logistical stuff like researching retail electricity from reliant in bradford and talking to the landlord about our lease terms which has been great because I’ve been able to focus on the inventory and design of the store. I can’t wait for things to get started and for us to find out if we’ve got what it takes to work together and make a good living. I guess we’ll find out soon what it means to be on our own.

The whole family will be driving up to Whistler, Canada for a weekend getaway. Although, we've been to Canada so many times but this will be our first time to celebrate New Year's in the foreign country. The kids are getting excited and can't wait to go to tubing and sledding. I hope you all have a peaceful and fun New Year's Day celebration!

I recently moved into a new home and I'm slowly but surely getting all of the rooms decorated. It really is a work in progress because it's my first house after my divorce and I just didn't care to take all of my stuff that I shared with my husband. So I'm making it over and making it to be my very own. I'm doing it just a bit at a time and making it the right way.

I love to look online at decor blogs to get some ideas about what to do with my home. When I was doing that one night, I ran across the site www.HOMEPROIMPROVEMENT.com and after I looked through it a little bit, I decided to use them to get my roof on my new house replaced.

I collect a lot of little things anyway, so now IÕm having a whole lot of fun finding ways to display all of these collections. Now, I donÕt want to look like a hoarder or anything, but with taste. I think that IÕm definitely achieving that aesthetic.

Back in 2007, dear hubby and I visited our relative in Alberta, Canada. We drove up there and spent time in Calgary, Alberta for a little bit. The city of Calgary has an estimated population of one million people, which makes it the 3rd largest municipality in the country and largest in Alberta. With the estimated population of more than one million as well as the demand for buying or leasing houses is continuously on the rise. These days, an extremely large numbers of real estate models are everywhere over the city.

I am so glad that we invested in homesecuritysystems when we bought our house. I was at home alone around lunchtime last week when there was an attempted burglary on our home. I always set the alarm when I am at home alone—a tip I got from Oprah. I was eating lunch in the kitchen when the alarm went off. At first, I thought it may have been one of my college-age children, so I walked down the hall towards the laundry room. I almost fell over when I saw two men that I did not recognize with their arm through one of the windows trying to unlock the door. I grabbed my nautical mace out of my purse on the counter and ran upstairs. I locked myself in my bedroom and called the police. They had already been alerted to break-in and were on their way. By the time they got there, the criminals had run off. I was so thankful that the alarm had scared them away. I can’t even imagine what would have happened if we didn’t have it!
